Directions
1. Set cream cheese and butter out to warm (room temperature is best).
2. In a medium bowl, cream the butter and cream cheese together until smooth.
3. Gradually add powdered sugar, and beat until smooth.
4. Add vanilla and blend well.
5. If frosting is not thick enough, add up to 2 Tbs of flour (frosting will thicken some if you refrigerate it).
Notes: If you like frosting super sweet – you can add more powdered sugar instead of flour to thicken the frosting. Cream cheese can be hard to find in Romania, but as long as it’s sealed, it will keep for a long time in your refrigerator
Variations: Instead of vanilla, try any other flavoring or liquor you like. You can also try 2 tsp of citrus zest. ½ tsp of cinnamon or other spice is also good. For Coconut Cream Cheese Frosting: add ½ c toasted coconut flakes at the end.
