Directions

1. Form 4 patties with ground beef.  Grill, or cook in a skillet over a medium flame to preference.

2. Place cooked patties on lower halves of buns with tomato, onion and lettuce.

3. Serve immediately. With ketchup, mustard etc.

 

Variations: To make a Heat Wave Burger: add 1 Tbs garlic powder, 1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce, pepper to taste, 1 small chopped onion, and 1 tsp. red pepper to ground beef. Mix in bowl and form into patties - following above instructions. For Jamaican-style Burgers: add 1 medium onion, chopped, ½ tsp cayenne pepper, ½ tsp allspice, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp curry powder, 1 tsp dried thyme, ½ c bread crumbs, and 2 eggs. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and form into patties - following above instructions. As seen above, you can dress up your burger to suit your taste!

 

Substitutions: Ground beef/Ground turkey or ground beef-pork mix (tocăniţă). Lettuce/Cabbage.
