Directions

1. Cook pasta* and preheat the oven to a medium-high temperature.

2. Separate the eggs, reserving both the yolks and whites. Set each aside separately.

3. Crush or chop the walnuts and set aside

4. In a large bowl, mix together the yolks, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

5. Drain the noodles well and add them to the sugar mixture.

6. Melt the butter in a small sauce pan. Add it to the noodle mixture, along with the raisins and walnuts. Mix well.

7. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until very stiff. Fold the egg whites into the noodle mixture.

8. Generously grease a baking pan. Pour the noodle mixture into the pan and sprinkle with bread crumbs (dot with more butter if you’d like).

9. Bake for 45 minutes or until hot through, and golden on top. Serve warm.                    

                      

Notes: This recipe is good served with whipped cream or ice cream. Adjust the fruit, nuts and spices if needed.

 

Substitutions: Nutmeg/Allspice or other spice. Raisins/Chopped apples. Bread Crumbs/Cracker crumbs.
