Macaroni (uncooked)

Sweet cheese

Vanilla sugar

Directions

1. Cook pasta and drain the water. Pre-heat the oven.

2. Pour a little oil over noodles; start with a teaspoon and add more if desired.

3. Grate or crumble the cheese over the pasta and mix well.

4. Sprinkle sugar over noodles. Serve warm.

                                                              

Notes: Experiment with the cheese (anything without salt works well, like urdă, or brânză dulce) and sugar amounts—this is according to taste.

 

Substitutions: Vanilla sugar/Regular sugar. 

 

Variations: This dish can be baked. If you opt for this, assemble 2-3 layers of pasta, cheese and sugar in a greased baking dish – or one thin layer topped with cheese and sugar on a baking sheet. Bake in a medium temperature oven until heated through and golden on top. This variation will be a little more ‘tight’ and dry than the other.
