Directions
1. Slice pork into thin strips. Quarter onions, slice carrots, and chop peppers.
2. In a cup, mix cornstarch and water. Set aside.
3. In a saucepan, mix sugar (to taste), vinegar, soy sauce, ketchup, and the juice from the can of pineapples. Bring to a boil.
4. Add cornstarch mixture and stir until smooth and slightly thickened. Turn off the heat.
5. In a large frying pan, cook pork in oil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add vegetables and cook until pork is done and vegetables are cooked, but still crunchy. Make sure pork is cooked through.
6. Add sauce and pineapple chunks and mix well. Cook another minute or two (so everything is hot).
Notes: This recipe makes a lot of sauce, but it is absolutely delicious. Serve it over rice* to sop of the extra juice. Soy sauce is appearing in small towns all over Romania and can definitely be found at any Carrefour or Metro grocery store.
Substitutions: Pork/Chicken. 2 Tbs cornstarch/4 Tbs flour. Ketchup/Tomato paste.
