Directions

1. Preheat the oven to medium.

2. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.

3. Pour in water, vegetable oil and vanilla; mix until smooth.

4. Spread evenly in a medium baking pan.

3. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until it starts to pull from the edges and a knife comes out of the center clean. Let cool for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares.

 

Notes: If you like thick brownies, bake in a smaller pan (it may take longer to bake).

 

Variations:  Try adding one cup pecans or coconut flakes. Or try 1-2 Tsp of instant coffee for mocha brownies.
