Tuna Salad

1 recipe

4 slices

Bread

4 slices

4 slices

CaÅŸcaval

4 slices

1

Tomato

1

2 Tbs

Butter (softened)

2 Tbs

Directions

1. Prepare one recipe of Tuna Salad* as directed but use slightly less mayonnaise.

2. Place tuna salad onto one slice of bread.

3. Add a layer of two thin slices of caÅŸcaval. Finally, add a third layer of thinly sliced tomato.

4. Top the sandwich with a slice of bread and add a thin coating of butter or margarine to the outsides of the sandwich.

5. Place a pan over a medium flame. Before the pan is hot, add your sandwich and grill until each side is golden brown. If cheese is not melting easily, place a lid on the pan. Serve hot.

Variations: For a healthier and faster tuna melt, use plain, drained tuna instead of tuna salad. Try experimenting with different types of cheese such as mozzarella or American or adding such things as pickles, cucumbers, red bell peppers, or olives to your tuna melt before grilling. You can substitute margarine for butter if you prefer.
